Bemex is in the unique position of being Australia's longest established mineral processing plant operations, maintenance and management (OMMS) service provider, with operations commencing in January 2001. Bemex' OMMS model provides the client with an economically benefical arrangement compared to owner operated processing plants, with the added potential to extend mine-life.
The typical OMMS arrangement sees Bemex with responsibility for operating, maintaining and managing plant processing facilities, including laboratory and gold room.
An optimum number of OMMS personnel are assigned to the project, with the actual number of staff and roster arrangements determined according to the client's needs, in addition to other optional services such as mobile plant operation. All staff are required to complete both Bemex and client site induction programmes, demonstrate strict adherance to Bemex' occupational, health and safety procedures, in addition to the companies policies and procedures (which govern codes of behaviour, as an example).
The site workforce is assisted by the Technical Support team located at Bemex' head office in Perth. This team provides supplemental services to the site team such as health and safety, metallurgical services, maintenance and equipment support, training, recruitment and HR services and management support.
